Timothy P. Snyder, MPA, CFRETim has held leadership positions in human development spanning a 36 year career. He has served in university student development, resource development and extensively in organizational development and change management. His professional fundraising experiences began in 1984 as a capital campaign consultant with Ketchum, Inc. He has served in the United Way and in senior leadership positions with Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, the Parental Stress Center and Voices for America's Children. As a successful campaign consultant, Tim's major engagements included the Mississippi Baptist Convention in a $40 million endowment campaign, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in a $25 million campaign, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges in a $15 million endowment campaign, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Pittsburgh in a $7 million leadership phase of a building campaign. Tim excels in designing and implementing transition, continuation and reengineering campaigns. For thirteen years (1993 – 2006) Tim served as Executive Director of the Parental Stress Center, a regional family services organization serving Southwestern Pennsylvania. His special capabilities include resource development, organizational change and intentional partnership building. Tim has demonstrated capacity in organizational assessment, strategic planning and action planning. His special skill is in working with organizations and their leaders at all levels to identify opportunities and the methods by which to achieve goals. A student of the Learning Organization model, Tim has taught and coached widely on both fundraising best practices and on programmatic development in nonprofit organizations. Tim received a B.A. degree in History and Education from Southern Methodist University and pursued graduate study in public affairs, business and international development education at the University of Pittsburgh. He received a MPA degree from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. A twenty year member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Tim was first awarded the Certified Fund Raising Executive designation (CFRE) in 1989. Tim grew up on the Mississippi River in Iowa, he now resides in Washington, DC. He is married to Arlene Apfel Snyder, CFRE. They have three boys in their twenties.
