Juliana Ver Steeg, CFRE

Julie Ver Steeg is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and has over 25 years experience in nonprofit fundraising and management. She has significant experience in capital campaigns, development assessment studies, major gift strategies, annual fund development, membership programs and volunteer and staff training.

Julie has served as Development Director at California Tomorrow, Strybing Arboretum Society (now San Francisco Botanical Garden Society), Greenbelt Alliance and the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. She has also served as Acting Executive Director at Strybing and as Associate Executive Officer at Astronomical Society. For five years she directed the Bay Area Environmental Education Resource Fair and is now a board member. Julie has served as Lecturer in Biology at San Francisco State.

Julie is a past board member of the NSFRE-Golden Gate Chapter (now Association of Fundraising Professionals-Golden Gate Chapter) and continues as an active volunteer. In 2003 and 2004, she co-chaired the 'Ask the Experts' program of Fundraising Day in San Francisco. She is also a long-time board member, past-board president and current Treasurer of Development Executives Roundtable. Julie has spoken to many nonprofit audiences.

She has had long-standing consulting relationships with various organizations including The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, CA, St. Anthony Foundation in San Francisco and California P.E.O. Home in Southern California. Other projects that she is currently managing or consulting on include: California Budget Project, Child Care Law Center, Kinship Center and Lincoln Child Center.

With a master's degree in Ecology and Systematics, Julie continues to take a systematic and creative approach to her work. She lives in San Francisco with her husband John and their son Nicholas.
