Jacqueline L. Venable

Jacqueline Venable joined Brakeley Briscoe Inc in 2005, after a distinguished nineteen-year career in development and alumni relations in higher education. She has served colleges and universities from Ivy to Jesuit, from public to private, from healthcare to professional, from design and business to liberal arts. Her current BBI clients are The Indianapolis Symphony, Indianapolis, IN; Norwalk Community College, Norwalk, CT; King's College, Wilkes-Barre, PA; Rochester Arts Renaissance, Rochester, NY; St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, MA; and the Girl Scouts of the USA.

She is especially adept at assessment of programs, developing specific and targeted initiatives to meet an organization and its development operation where it is, and show significant growth and effectiveness in a short amount of time. For example, the annual giving initiatives she put in place at The Sage Colleges produced a fifty percent increase in annual giving in the first year alone, and stand to triple the annual fund over the next five years. At Fordham University, the program she created in 1994 to enhance major gifts from M.D. alumni has resulted in millions of dollars to the university from an alumni group that needed a targeted program to feel connected enough to give at these levels. The HEALERS program continues successfully to this day.

She has extensive capital campaign experience as well as diverse management experience. While serving as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, she managed the first phase of their $137 million capital campaign and personally brought in the largest gift in FIT's history ($10 million, larger than any previous gift by a factor of ten).

Jackie holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music with a major in Voice and a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School in Voice and Opera. Her extensive performing experience in many different settings position her well to communicate clearly, make compelling presentations, and gives her a valuable perspective that enhances her ability to serve her clients.

She resides in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she teaches voice locally and continues to perform when time and circumstances allow.
